About NBA Picks
How NBA Picks Work on a Betting Exchange
Every NBA pick on this page links to a live order book on SX Bet. There's no sportsbook on the other side — you're matching against another bettor, USDC-settled on-chain, with zero commission on winnings. Maker liquidity sets the line; taker fills clear instantly. That changes how you read the price.
On a sportsbook, the displayed price is the price you get to bet — minus a 4–6% built-in margin (the "vig"). On SX Bet, you see two prices: the best back and the best lay. Cross them and the midpoint approximates the no-vig probability. We surface that midpoint as the no-vig reference for every NBA market in the table below — it's the cleanest fair-value signal you can get without a model.
How We Reference Fair Value for NBA Markets
For each NBA market we list (moneyline, spread, total), the no-vig reference is computed from SX Bet's two-sided book. Take the implied probability from the best back-side price, take it from the best lay-side price, sum them, and divide each by the sum. That removes the spread between the two sides and gives you the consensus probability the market is pricing.
It's not a "true" probability — no model is — but it's the price the market would offer if it weren't taking a cut. When sportsbooks are pricing the same game, compare your sportsbook's line to the no-vig reference. If the sportsbook line is meaningfully worse, you're paying vig on a market the exchange can fill at fair value.
Best Markets for NBA Bettors
NBA totals tend to be the most efficient market, particularly for nationally televised games — line movement is sharp and steam comes in fast. Spreads on featured matchups are similarly tight. The most interesting edges typically appear in the moneyline market on home underdogs (Vegas systematically over-juices favorites) and in second-half/quarter totals where information asymmetry is higher.
For each pick on this page, we link the exact market on SX Bet so you can lay liquidity if you disagree, or take the price if you agree. Lay-side liquidity in the NBA book is deepest in the 2 hours before tip and the first quarter of in-play.
