NFL Week 4: MNF Previews & Picks

We've got another MNF double-header for week 4! Check out this edition of The Betting Report for previews & picks ahead of Titans-Dolphins & Seahawks-Lions. Let's make some money.

⏰ 7:30PM EST - Titans vs. Dolphins

Preview

The Monday Night Football doubleheader is kicking off with the Titans vs Dolphins. Both AFC teams are having tough starts to the season. The Dolphins sit at 1-2 after Tua Tagovailoa sustained a concussion in Week 2, while the Titans are struggling at 0-3 with Will Levis facing challenges.

Mostert has been sidelined for the last two games due to a chest injury, and McDaniel didn't seem optimistic about his availability for Week 4, despite the extra day off. This means Achane will likely take on the majority of the carries, having played 62% and 74% of the snaps in the last two games. In Week 2, he rushed 22 times for 96 yards against the Buffalo Bills, but in a lopsided loss to Seattle last Sunday, he managed just 11 carries for 30 yards as the Dolphins fell behind early and ran on only 32% of their offensive snaps.

This matchup really boils down to home-field advantage and a minor coaching edge. While home-field advantage in the NFL is diminishing, I believe it varies by situation. Under McDaniel, the Dolphins are 14-5 straight-up and 11-8 against the spread at home. Additionally, 32 quarterbacks have a better Value vs. Average Starter than Will Levis this season, according to nfelo. He’s struggled significantly this year, particularly with turnovers. I’m not convinced he’ll be able to turn things around in a road game against a motivated opponent.

🔒 Spread: Dolphins -2.5

🔒 Total: Under 37.0

⏰ 8:15PM EST - Seahawks vs. Lions

Preview

The undefeated Seahawks will be taking on the Lions in the second game of Monday Night Football. Seattle (3-0) is enjoying its best start since 2020, when it won its first five games. This marks only the eighth time in franchise history that the Seahawks have started a season with three or more consecutive wins. They now have a chance to begin 4-0 for just the third time since the team's inception in 1976, thanks to a revamped defense under first-year head coach Mike Macdonald.

Detroit (2-1) has only lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1) in Week 2 and has mostly lived up to expectations after their NFC Championship run last season. The Lions boast one of the best running back tandems in the league, with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs combining for 438 rushing yards over three games.

Both teams are dealing with injuries, but the Seahawks could be without up to five starters (four confirmed) on defense, along with a sixth key rotational player on their defensive line, first-round pick Byron Murphy II.

🔒 Spread: Seahawks +4.0

🔒 Total: Under 47.0

Good luck bettors!
